The obituary index contains names, obituary dates, newspaper name and column/page number. Although the index is incomplete, it contains approximately 90,000 entries from 1887 to date. The Reference Department maintains a complete file of the Michigan City newspapers on microfilm.

Copies of Obituaries

For copies of obituaries, mail your request to:

  • SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope)
  • Check or money order for $5.00 (1 - 2 obituaries amounts to $5.00 total).
