 Historic Slide Collection

Under the sponsorship of the Michigan City Public Library and the LaPorte County CETA Special Projects program in the 1970's, a collection of over 6000 historic photographs were copied onto 35mm slides. The slides depict life in LaPorte County, Indiana from the early colonies of Hopewells to the modern day shopping malls of the 1970's. The informational booklet, Portable LaPorte County was also compiled as part of the project. The slides are housed in the Reference Department and are available for viewing.

Walk-in customers are charged a $3.00 handling/service fee plus the cost of copies. Handling/service fee must be paid at time of request submission. Cost of copies must be paid when items are picked up.
