Steinberg

Neil Steinberg is a columnist for the
Chicago Sun-Times, where he has been on staff since 1987. He became a columnist
there in 1995, and his column runs four days a week in the news section.
Steinberg has written for a wide variety of publications, including Esquire,
Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated, Details, Men's Journal, The New York Times
Sunday Magazine, Newsweek-Japan, Granta, Spy, National Lampoon and
Chicago. He is the author of five books: Hatless Jack, Don't Give
Up the Ship, The Alphabet of Modern Annoyances, Complete and Utter
Failure and If At All Possible Involve a Cow. His sixth book will be
published by Dutton in 2008. The interviewer for this program is Rick
Richards.
James
Cross Giblin

James Cross Giblin is the author of more than twenty-five informational books,
many of them award winners. Besides his "bad boy" biographies for
young adults, he has written sympathetic studies of George Washington, Thomas
Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin for younger children. Mr. Giblin grew up in
northeastern Ohio, and has spent all of his adult life in New York City. His
book, Good Brother, Bad Brother: The Story of Edwin Booth and John Wilkes
Booth, is suggested reading to enhance the experience of the Lincoln exhibit
coming to the library in 2008. His new book, The Many Rides of Paul Revere,
is due out in the fall of 2007. The interviewer for the program is Betsy
Kohn.

Bruegmann

Robert Bruegmann is
an historian of architecture, landscape and the built environment. His fields of
research and teaching are architectural, urban, landscape, and planning history
and historic preservation. He has received scholarships and fellowships from the
National Endowment for the Humanities, the Graham Foundation, the Buell Center
for the Study of American Architecture at Columbia University and the Institute
for the Humanities and the Great Cities Institute at the University of Illinois
at Chicago. His most recent book, Sprawl: A Compact History, was
published in 2005. The interviewer for the program is Barbara Stodola.

An English
major at the University of California at Berkley, Lois went on to get a masters
in library science and began her career as a Young Adult librarian at Dallas
Public Library. This influenced her decision to write young adult stories. Her
books include, Shanghai Shadows, Journey to Jamestown, Madrigal’s Melody,
The Moxie Kid and Steal Away Home about a young girl who is growing
up in a house that once hid runaway slaves during the Civil War. She and her
husband Tom, a clinical psychologist, have three grown sons.
